The degree of wear of the brake shoe drum assembly can be accurately measured by the following steps:
Before the experiment, remove the tire and brake drum, measure and record the initial data separately as a reference.
2. Due to the variable thickness of the brake shoes along the circumference, i.e. the thickness of each point on the brake shoes is unequal. In order to prevent the inability to compare each measurement due to different measurement positions, 16 measurement points are fixed and selected along the circumference, and obvious permanent marks are made next to the measurement points
3. The measuring tool uses a vernier caliper, and the diameter of the brake drum is accurately measured using a large diameter micrometer in the metrology laboratory.
