The heavy-duty truck axle belongs to the drive axle, which is composed of several parts such as the main reducer, differential, half shaft, and drive axle housing. The two ends are composed of wheel hub units, brake hub assemblies, brake assembly, and other units. The wheel hub unit is matched with the half shaft sleeve through two bearings and an oil seal seat ring. The car power is transmitted from the half shaft sleeve to the truck wheel hub through the bearing, driving the wheel hub to rotate and achieve the driving of the truck. The end face of the oil seal seat ring is adjacent to the end face of the inner bearing. The oil seal seat ring divides the wheel hub into two independent sealing chambers. The end with the bearing is injected with gear oil for gear lubrication, while the end without the bearing is the brake drum. There are brake shoes inside the brake drum for braking. If the sealing performance of the oil seal seat ring is poor, it can cause gear oil to be thrown onto the brake shoes, affecting braking performance and leading to oil leakage. Due to its precise coaxiality and good sealing performance, axle oil seals have been widely used in the automotive industry for tight fitting sealing systems in environments such as high rotational speed, precise fit, high coaxiality requirements, harsh working conditions, and long-term high temperatures. Among them, metal oil seals are suitable for low speed and high torque usage. The material of the oil seal seat ring is QT400-500, and the outer surface has high sealing performance. The original process is generally casting turning polishing to Ra0.8, but the effect is unstable. The advantage of using Houck mirror processing is that Houck does not require secondary clamping and alignment, saving auxiliary time. The surface roughness requirement of the oil seal seat ring is Ra0.8, which can be met. Houck can process it to around Ra0.2-0.4 in 30 seconds, with a processing efficiency more than twice that of grinding, improving sealing performance and preventing oil leakage. Hooke can improve the surface hardness and wear resistance of the oil seal seat ring, prolong its service life, completely solve the problem of oil leakage, and reduce the frequency of maintenance and replacement.
