The 136th Guangzhou Import and Export Fair will return in October this year, I believe many customers are looking forward to this fair, but how to arrive at the fair is an important question, LUEN will introduce you to the route to the fair and some tips to make you have a better experience at the fair.
For overseas customers, there are two options for flights, you can choose flights arriving in Hong Kong or flights arriving in Guangzhou.
If you want to take the Hong Kong flight:
After arriving at Hong Kong airport, go to the SkyPier at Hong Kong International Airport to take the direct ferry to Pazhou, the venue of the Canton Fair, and remember to let the airport staff help you with baggage transfer. Upon arrival at Pazhou Ferry Terminal, walk down the escalator at the terminal, turn right and walk along the main road for about 200 meters. You won't miss the China Import and Export Center building across the street: take a crosswalk and keep walking towards the building until you reach the security checkpoint. Once you have passed through the security checkpoint, you can climb the stairs to the building and admire all the exhibits of the fair.
If you are traveling on a flight from Guangzhou, there are three ways you can arrive in Pazhou:
Direct Shuttle Service: You can be taken directly from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to the show site. The shuttle service runs throughout the three stages of the show from 1pm to 6pm. New shuttles run every 30 minutes. Shuttle buses are also available from major hotels to the show site.
Metro: You can take Line 8 from Pazhou Station Exit A, B or C, or from Xingangdong Station Exit A.
Cab: You can also take a cab directly to the venue using taxi hailing apps such as DDT.
Before arriving at the Canton Fair we need to settle for accommodation, the nearby hotels are listed below:

Tips to have a better experience at Canton Fair
Download apps
China has its own range of apps for making payments, sending messages and managing transportation. Upon arrival in China, make sure you have downloaded all the important apps on your phone.
Alipay: It is China's leading payment and digital services platform. Millions of merchants accept the platform and foreign visitors can connect their credit cards to pay for almost anything. To make a payment, open the app and scan the QR code, or the merchant will scan your one-time QR code in the “Payment/Receipt” tab.
→ PRO TIP: Shops often ask the question, “Do I scan or do you scan me?”
WeChat: This is the main communication app used in China. Use it to keep in touch with suppliers, cab drivers and official business accounts. Create a profile and get verified by existing users to get started.
Gaode Maps: Gaode Maps is a navigation app that provides real-time traffic information in China
Baidu Maps: another navigation app that offers a street view feature and helps people find their way around different cities in China.
DDT: This is a cab hailing app that allows users to request real-time rides from partner drivers.
Metroman China: Provides up-to-date and accurate information on China's subways, including subway maps and operating schedules.
→ Pro Tip: Install a VPN before arriving in China, as global apps such as WhatsApp, Gmail, YouTube, and Instagram won't work in the country.
Organize a list of questions in advance
There are countless vendors at the Canton Fair and time is limited, so if you don't think of a list of questions ahead of time, you may waste your time and miss out on some quality vendors. Below is a list of frequently asked questions organized by LUEN:
What are the most popular products?
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
What are the current lead times?
What countries do you export to?
What are the preferred payment methods?
Can I get exclusivity on specific products or product lines?
Can I get products in specific colors or sizes?
Improve your business card information
Exchanging business cards is a common practice in China. You should bring multiple business cards with all your contact information, including phone numbers, email addresses and WeChat IDs.
Networking is one of the main reasons why many overseas buyers attend Canton Fairs in China. You should use this opportunity to build your supplier network.
→ PRO TIP: Receive all business cards with both hands as a sign of respect and keep them out of sight during the conference.
