The hub bearings of trucks need regular maintenance. If they are not maintained, problems will easily occur, causing wear to the bearings, and accidents are prone to occur during driving. Wheel bearing maintenance inspection

1. When inspecting the progress of the wheel hub bearing, first set up the axle at the end of the wheel hub that needs to be inspected, and use tools such as a car stool and a car cover to safely set up the car.

2. Turn the tested wheel several times by hand to see if the rotation is stable and if there is any abnormal noise. If the rotation is not stable and there is a friction sound, it means that the brake part is abnormal; if there is no noise, the rotation is not stable and sometimes tightens and loosens, it means that the bearing part is abnormal.

The wheel hub should be dismantled and inspected when the above abnormal phenomenon occurs. For small cars, you don’t need to disassemble the wheel hub bearings. Just hold the tire with both hands and turn the tire back and forth several times. If the wheel hub bearings are normal, there should be no feeling of looseness or blockage; If it feels wide, you should disassemble and check the lower hub.

3. Check whether the hub brake is normal. When checking the hub bearing, you can check whether the lower brake is in normal use

If there are oil stains and oil stains on the inner side of the tire during the inspection, it is likely that there is a problem with the brake oil pipe or the wheel cylinder, and there is an oil leakage problem. At this time, it is necessary to carefully find out the cause and eliminate the problem.

Wheel bearing maintenance steps

1. Remove the decorative cover and dust cover of the hub bearing head;

2. When removing the tire nut and tire, be careful not to damage the thread of the bolt, otherwise it will affect the stability of the tire. If the vehicle uses disc brakes, the brake should be removed first, and then the lock ring or lock pin should be removed with pliers.

3. Then remove the hub with tools;

4. After removing the hub, it is necessary to clean the bearing, journal and hub cavity first, clean up the old grease, then use cleaning agent or diesel to clean the bearing, etc., and finally wipe it with a cloth.

5. It is necessary to carefully check the disassembled hub bearing and bearing seat ring to confirm whether there are any problems, such as whether there are cracks, falling off, loose rollers, etc. If there are problems, the corresponding accessories need to be replaced.

6. When maintaining the hub bearing, it is necessary to check the fit between the inner diameter of the bearing and the journal to see if there is any problem with the fit. If the fit gap is greater than 0.10mm, it means there is a problem, and the bearing needs to be replaced immediately. It should be noted that the gap cannot be reduced by wearing accessories.7. After cleaning all parts, check that there is no problem, apply Jinguan bearing grease to the inner bearing, and then put it into the hub.

8. When applying grease to the inner cavity of the bearing, attention should be paid to squeeze the grease into the bearing until it emerges from the other side. In order to prevent the inner cavity of the hub and the shaft head cover from rusting, grease can be applied to prevent rust, but it should be noted that not too much is applied, otherwise it will affect heat dissipation and braking.

9. Install the accessories of the hub bearing on the journal in turn, and then tighten the nuts with a shaft wrench. Test whether the wheel hub bearing is installed normally, and turn the wheel hub left and right for a few laps by hand, so that the bearing and the seat ring can be more fit.

10. Finally, install the lock plate, fixing nut, tire, dust cover? Decorative cover and other parts in sequence.

11. After the wheel hub is finally adjusted, after driving for about 10km, you need to stop and check to see if the temperature of the wheel hub is hot when you touch it with your hands. If it is hot, it is likely that the bearing is too tight, just readjust it.
