Container Twist Lock Types

In the transport of goods, container transport is a very common form, and how to fix the container is a very important problem. Twist lock is used to solve the container fixed this problem.

Different methods of fixing containers correspond to different twist locks, common methods of fixing containers are: containers fixed on the ground and horizontal placement or vertical stacking

Twist lock type

★Vertical twist lock

1. Dovetail container twist lock and base

It is suitable for flat surfaces and can be welded with a base or bolted to a metal surface. To use this type of container twist lock, simply place the lock in the neutral position, load the container on top and move to the locked position. The dovetail secures from the right side to the left side. This mechanism is utilized for vertically piling up containers.

2. Manual Container Twist Lock

It is used to stack two containers vertically. This lock has a left-to-right locking feature. To secure two containers, simply move the handle to the neutral position and place the top container in the slot, then move the handle to the locking position.LUEN offers two sizes of twist locks for regular and large containers. The larger one provides more surface area and stability.

3. Manual Transport Container Twist Lock Welded Chassis

This lock is welded to the container chassis trailer. In the unlocked position, the lock backs up and away for easy loading and unloading. Once the container is loaded, rotate the lock and it will be secured in the locked state.

This lock features a spring mechanism that stops unintentional unlocking. Just pull the spring to a neutral state and place it in the top transport container. lUEN provides two sizes of these locks, with the larger option offering an expanded surface area and enhanced stability.

4. Semi-automatic container twist lock

It is similar to the manual lock, but with only one difference, i.e., there is no handle, this twist lock container is a spring-loaded lock. The benefit of this lock is that its spring mechanism prevents unintentional unlocking. Just draw the spring to a neutral spot and place it into the top transport container. lUEN provides these locks in two dimensions, and once more, the larger size's merit lies in its increased surface area and enhanced stability.

★Horizontal locks

1. Horizontal Container Twist Lock

‘Horizontal Container Twistlocks’ are used to connect containers side by side. They cannot be connected vertically, but only sideways. Place the lock into the container's side and rotate it. Connect the second container to the first one's side and secure it in position.
